Research Introduction
Dr.Liu’steam has achieved a closed loop from fundamental research to industrialization by integrating micro-/nanomaterials with biomedical engineering.Academically, the team has published multiple papers and patents on controlled fabrication and multi-scale characterization of micro-/nanomaterials.Industrially, using semiconductor processes, the team has developed silicon-based microneedle arrays, intradermal delivery systems, and automated injection tools, overcoming key challenges in microstructure transfer and patterning. Several products have obtained NMPA certification and entered global markets.
Using skin organoids, the team has developed physiologically relevant 3D models (including stratified epidermis, dermis, and hair follicles) for drug permeability testing, toxicity evaluation, and efficacy assessment, providing a human-relevant platform that bridges the gap between in vitro assays and clinical translation. The group is committed to advancing academic discoveries toward clinical and market applications, providing systematic solutions for real-world health challenges.
