On March 13, the academician academic forum jointly sponsored by the Life and Health Intelligent Research Institute and the Division of Science and Technology TJUT was successfully held in the lecture hall of our university library.Lei Jiang, Research Fellow, Technical Institute of Physical and Chemistry,CAS, Dean of the Institute of Future Technology, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences ,Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences.Professor Jinghong Li, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University, Buxing Han, Research Fellow, Institute of Chemistry Chinese Academy of Sciences,Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Theywere invited to attend and gave an excellent presentation. The forum was chaired by Professor Tongbu Lu , Dean of the School of Materials Science and Engineering.
Before the meeting, Dongzhi Liu, secretary of the Party Committee of the university, warmly met with the three academicians and had an in-depth exchange, accompanied by comrades in charge of the School of Materials Science and Engineering, the Life and Health Intelligent Research Institute and the Division of Science and Technology and participated in the activities.
Lei Jiang, an academician, gave a lecture titled "The Way of Nature - Ultra-immersion Interface Science and Future Technology". He explained the basic subject knowledge of super-immersion interface science with humorous and interesting language through examples close to life, and shared his experience and methods summed up on the road of scientific research, pointing out that we should be brave to question all the processes we see, and when a problem arises, we should boldly assume and carefully seek proof. The team is oriented to the major national needs, to the main economic battlefield, to the people's life and health, and has achieved breakthroughs in the combined typical applications of more than 10 kinds of super-infiltrated interface materials.
Academician Jinghong Li gave a lecture entitled "Chemometrics in major public health emergencies", with the development of new coronavirus detection methods as the starting point. He talked about the major public health emergencies in recent years, such as SARS, Neocrown pneumonia and monkeypox, and introduced in detail the antigen immunoassay technology for SARS virus and the rapid detection technology for Neocrown virus and its variant strains. He said chemometrics lays the scientific foundation for future responses to public health emergencies and is important in aiding disease diagnosis, vaccine development and drug screening.
Academician Buxing Han gave a lecture entitled "Green Chemistry and Carbon Neutrality". He introduced the great significance of achieving carbon neutrality and the major challenges faced, pointing out that chemistry has an irreplaceable role in the process of achieving carbon neutrality and in the development of human society. He also focused on green chemistry and green carbon science, highlighting the latest research progress and application results of his research team in CO2 conversion and utilization, biomass conversion technology, and waste carbon resource recycling. At the end of the report, he urged young teachers and students to be courageous and innovative, to actively engage in the cause of green chemistry and low-carbon chemistry, and to devote themselves to solving the challenging problems faced in achieving green and sustainable development in the chemical industry.
More than 500 teachers and students from related colleges listened to the report and actively asked questions and had cordial communication with the academicians on site.
The academician academic forum was held to provide an opportunity for our teachers and students to learn and communicate, expand their research ideas and broaden their research horizons, which will further enhance our scientific research work.
