Introduction of Instrument

Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometer (GC-MS) utilizes gas chromatography as the inlet and separation system for mass spectrometry, so that complex compounds can be separated in the chromatography, and mass spectrometry is used as the detector thus achieving qualitative and quantitative analysis.It is mainly used for qualitative and quantitative analysis of compounds with low boiling points and good thermal stability.

Working Principle

When a multi-component mixed sample enters a chromatographic column, the components separate from each other in the column due to differences in partition coefficients or adsorption coefficients in the mobile and stationary phases.After the gas chromatography separation of each gaseous molecule by the ion source bombardment, electrolytic cleavage into ions, in the electric field and and magnetic field under the combined effect of the size of the separation in accordance with the m/z, to reach the detector detection, recording and collation, to obtain the mass spectrometry, to achieve qualitative and quantitative analysis of the sample.

Notes

⑴The concentration of the sample should not exceed 0.5ug/ml and should not be too high, otherwise it will contaminate the chromatographic column;

⑵The sample must not contain inorganic acids, inorganic bases or water;

⑶Rinse the injector tip with chromatographic grade methanol 3 times after feeding the sample and dry the tip to a fixed position;

⑷Please make sure that your fingers are dry when feeding the sample, and it is strictly prohibited to operate the instrument with soapy water on your hands;

⑸After each student's test, please click the green energy-saving button on the far right side of the software (standby mode to save gas and electricity);

⑹Remove the sample vials promptly after the test;

⑺Do not place the sample bottle on the instrument to prevent dripping of liquid.
