Introduction of Instrument

Centrifuge is mainly used to separate the solid particles in suspension from the liquid, or the emulsion of two different densities, but also insoluble liquid separation; can also be used to exclude the liquid in the wet solid; special ultra-speed tube separator can also separate the gas mixture of different densities; the use of different densities or particle size of solid particles in the liquid settling speed of different characteristics, some sedimentation centrifuge can also be solid particles according to density or particle size for classification.

Working Principle

When the suspension containing fine particles is stationary, the gravitational field makes the suspended particles gradually sink. The heavier the particles, the faster they sink, and conversely the particles with a density smaller than that of the liquid will float. The speed of particles moving in the gravitational field is related to the size, shape and density of the particles, and with the strength of the gravitational field and the viscosity of the liquid. Particles the size of red blood cells, with a diameter of a few microns, can be observed in their settling process under the action of gravity.

Notices

1. the centrifuge should be placed on a flat and sturdy ground or laboratory table, without tilting.

2. the centrifuge tube must be balanced in weight with a balance (weight balance), cover the centrifuge tube lid and screw it tightly.

3. put the balanced centrifuge tubes symmetrically into the centrifuge gyro (position balance), cover the lid of the centrifuge gyro, pay attention to the presence or absence of screwing.

4. When finish centrifugation, wait for the centrifuge to stop automatically, do not allow the hand or other objects to force the centrifuge to stop, wait until the rotating head is completely still before opening the hatch, please take out the centrifuge tube as soon as possible, first observe whether the centrifuge tube is complete, and the location of the precipitate, pour out the supernatant as soon as possible, be careful not to cloud the precipitate.
