Tianjin Key Laboratory of Life and Health Detection
General Secretary Xi Jinping, while presiding over a symposium for scientists, proposed that the development of science and technology should adhere to the "four directions", and pointed out that " for people's life and health" is the new policy to lead the development of national science and technology. In this context, universities and research institutes across the country have set up research institutions in areas related to life and health research, but there are still gaps in the segmentation of health testing. In response to the national call for "organized scientific research", the Tianjin Key Laboratory of Life and Health Detection was established by Tianjin University of Technology as the first key laboratory focusing on life and health Detection in China.Researcher Wang Tie, winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, is the director of the Key Laboratory, Li Jinghong, an academician from Tsinghua University, is the director of the Academic Committee of the Key Laboratory, and Bu Xianhe, an academician from Nankai University and Yuan Yingjin, an academician from Tianjin University, are the deputy directors of the Academic Committee of the Key Laboratory.
The key laboratory scientifically integrates the research strengths and talents from various disciplines of Tianjin University of Technology, and has formed a whole chain of research from material design, detection mechanism, intelligent algorithm, chip processing, instrument development to clinical testing, and systematically carries out theoretical and technological research related to the mechanism of action, new methods of detection and new technological innovation, detection chip development and application, and new equipment development related to life and health detection. The aim is to promote scientific and technological breakthroughs in the field of life and health testing and to help the development of life and health industry in Tianjin.
At present, the lab has more than 40 researchers in nanomaterials and micro-nano structure preparation, gas sensor preparation, imaging analysis system, chip processing, communication integrated circuit, learning intelligent system and clinical medicine, forming a research team with national talents as the core, multidisciplinary crossover and reasonable age structure. In recent years, we have undertaken research projects such as the National Key R&D Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and published more than 200 SCI papers in international top journals such as Science, Nat. Commun.
The Key Laboratory has a shared platform of large testing instruments under its own management, which is open for use by various research units inside and outside the university. It has confocal micro Raman spectrometer, atomic force microscope, transmission electron microscope, metallurgical microscope, liquid mass spectrometer, gas mass spectrometer, infrared microscope, flow cytometer, fluorescence quantitative PCR instrument, confocal microscope, lithography, dispensing machine, 3D printer, atomic layer deposition system, nanomaterial deposition system, semiconductor testing system, etc. Semiconductor test systems and other large instruments and equipment.
The laboratory will continue to strengthen the construction of research hardware facilities and research team, and strive to build into a leading domestic and internationally advanced research base, to provide a strong guarantee for the introduction of talent, scientific and technological innovation and undertake major national scientific and technological tasks, to help the development of the emerging industry of life and health testing in Tianjin in the national characteristics.

Research Directions:
一.Research on new methods and technologies for detection
In view of the difficulty of accurate identification of target analytes in complex life flow systems, this direction focuses on the research of screening and mechanism of action of disease markers in specific life flow systems, analysis and optimization of key factors affecting the performance of analysis and detection of life flow systems, preparation and identification mechanism of major molecular sensitive recognition materials, and development of new technologies and methods for disease diagnosis and analysis and detection with high sensitivity, high stability and high selectivity.
二.Development and application of detection chips
In detection chips applicable to living mobile systems, the kinetic conformational relationship between their internal surface micro-nano structures and the mobile system is a key aspect to achieve high stability and sensitivity for the detection of disease markers. Thus, revealing the relationship between micro and nano structures at material interfaces and fluid dynamics, understanding the kinetic mechanisms affecting the interaction between the target and material interfaces, and constructing micro and nano structures for efficient detection are expected to improve the detection performance of devices. This research direction will use nano self-assembly technology to design arrays of sensitive units of target molecules based on electrochemical and spectroscopic analysis based on a variety of sensitive materials, to realize structurally enhanced sensing detection chips, to prepare highly sensitive detection chips for a variety of disease markers, and to realize accurate screening and determination of diseases.
三.Drug Targeted Delivery Systems
The development of new intelligent targeted delivery systems to improve the selectivity of drugs to target sites and achieve selective drug release in vivo will achieve highly effective targeted drug therapy, which is of great significance to improve drug efficacy, reduce adverse drug reactions and ensure drug safety. At the same time, the research and development of novel targeted agents will have an important role in promoting the clinical translation of targeted delivery systems and the development of pharmacy and other related disciplines.
